Softball Recap: Cardinal Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cardinal had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pymatuning Valley Lakers by a score of 7-3. This was a revenge game for the Huskies: when they faced off against the Lakers last Monday, they had to take a 15-3 defeat.

Kacie Carman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, Emily Pleva was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Brooklyn Whitely was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

The win got Cardinal back to even at 5-5. As for Pymatuning Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Cardinal is set to square off against their familiar foe Mathews at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pymatuning Valley will take on rival Harding at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
