Baseball Recap: Healdsburg Victorious

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Montgomery, Healdsburg was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Santa Rosa Panthers. For the Greyhounds, this counts as revenge for the 7-2 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Eric Nielsen looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Frank Rea, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Mason Radelfinger was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Healdsburg's record is now 7-4. As for Santa Rosa, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Healdsburg will face off against Piner at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Prospectors will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Santa Rosa, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Santa Rosa Panthers face off against Analy Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. They will need to watch out since Analy has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
