Basketball Recap: Riverside Warriors vs. Greer Yellow Jackets

The Riverside Warriors came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Greer 82-66. Given Riverside's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 60th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Riverside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madison Garrido led the charge by scoring 29 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garrido has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyndal Haroski, who scored 19 points.

Several Yellow Jackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amiyah Clark-Lamelle, who scored 19 points along with eight assists and six rebounds. Clark-Lamelle hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Jalasia Lewis was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Riverside's win bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Greer, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Riverside will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greer, they will head out on the road to take on the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Laurens has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 19.
