Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Takes a Loss

Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Miami Valley Rams, falling 70-38.

Leading Miami Valley to victory were Noah Barnard and Thomas Cook. Barnard dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, while Cook dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten assists. The dominant performance also gave Cook a new career-high in steals (seven). Another player making a difference was Ajitpal Gill, who posted 12 points.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Miami Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Cristo Rey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-22 defeat against Liberty Union on the 9th. As for Miami Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-50 win against Spring Valley Academy on the 10th.
