Basketball Game Preview: Kofa Kings vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

Kofa is on a three-game streak of home losses, Red Mountain a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Kofa Kings will welcome the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Kofa is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Yuma on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Kofa took a blow against Yuma, falling 71-32. The game marked the Kings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite their loss, Kofa saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Christian Curiel, who posted four points along with seven boards and five steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayden Koivu, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Red Mountain came up short against Hamilton on Tuesday and fell 58-49. The loss was the Mountain Lions' first of the season.

Kofa's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Red Mountain, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.
