Baseball Recap: O'Neal Falcons vs. Rocky Mount Academy Eagles
O'Neal and Rocky Mount Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but O'Neal had to settle for second. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rocky Mount Academy Eagles.
Jacob Bates made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Slagle, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
On Rocky Mount Academy's side, Parker Sherrod made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Sherrod was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
