Volleyball Recap: Fossil Ridge Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fossil Ridge had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Niwot Cougars. This was a revenge game for the SaberCats: when they faced off against the Cougars back in March, they had to take a 3-0 loss.

Fossil Ridge got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-21, 28-30, 17-25, 15-13.

Tannor Christians paced Fossil Ridge's offense, picking up 20 kills. Christians got some help from Jason Mynatt and his 32 assists. Shane Gerdes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Fossil Ridge's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. As for Niwot, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9.

Fossil Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Arvada West on the 29th. As for Niwot, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Riverdale Ridge on the 29th.
