After a string of five wins, Gehlen Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Akron-Westfield Westerners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jays of the 8-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in July of 2024.

Gehlen Catholic's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Akron-Westfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
