Football Recap: River Islands Takes a Loss

River Islands fell victim to Calaveras and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Red Hawks 55-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Riptide were not able to get on the board.

Daryl Carpenter threw for 117 yards on 13 of 24 attempts. Lucas Ruiz was his top target, picking up 43 receiving yards.

River Islands' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Calaveras, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

River Islands wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 32-20 loss against Linden on the 3rd. As for Calaveras, they have also already played their next game, a 21-7 win against Summerville on the 3rd.
