Volleyball Recap: Cheyenne Wells Takes a Loss

Cheyenne Wells was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Burlington Cougars. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Cheyenne Wells sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-8.

Cheyenne Wells' loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Burlington, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Cheyenne Wells will head out on the road to take on Haxtun at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Burlington, they will host Kiowa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
