Baseball Game Preview: Mahopac Wolf Pac vs. Fox Lane Foxes

The Mahopac Wolf Pac are taking a road trip to challenge the Fox Lane Foxes at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Mahopac is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Hendrick Hudson 10-2 two weeks ago. The win continues a trend for the Wolf Pac in their matchups with the Sailors: they've now won four in a row.

Anthony Eppolito made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Eppolito was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Eppolito wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Eckstein, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that Eckstein has brought in this season. Another was Vince Cataldo, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

Mahopac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Fox Lane rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wolves a 7-0 shutout. The victory was nothing new for the Foxes as they're now sitting on three straight.

Fox Lane pushed their record up to 17-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Mahopac, their record now sits at 5-3.

Mahopac skirted past Fox Lane 2-1 when the teams last played back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolf Pac since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
