Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Beats Christ's Church Academy for Their Fourth Straight Victory

St. Joseph Academy extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Christ's Church Academy. They had just enough and edged out the Eagles 7-6. The win was nothing new for the Flashes as they're now sitting on four straight.

St. Joseph Academy got a great performance from Jacob Guthmiller as he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts Guthmiller has posted since back in March.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Patrick Mullahy, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Garrison Wade was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

St. Joseph Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Christ's Church Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-15.

Coming up, St. Joseph Academy will take on University Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Flashes 3, the Christians 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Christ's Church Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
