Softball Recap: Mescalero Apache Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Mescalero Apache kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Ruidoso Warriors, falling 21-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Chiefs of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2023.

The win (which was Ruidoso's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Ruidoso beat Mescalero Apache by a score of 18-3 later that day.
