Football Recap: West Anchorage Takes Down Ranked Dimond + How To Watch

West Anchorage faced Dimond in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles secured a 13-9 W over the Lynx. 13 seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

West Anchorage's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Sanders, who picked up 99 receiving yards and one TD. Sanders got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 63 yards.

West Anchorage didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Dimond to a completion percentage of just 41.2%. The Eagles weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60.9%.

Dimond's loss came despite strong showings from Corde Bates and Caleb Cooke. Bates picked up 90 receiving yards and one score, while Cooke threw for 179 yards and one touchdown on only 17 passes.

West Anchorage's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Dimond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
