Baseball Recap: Wink Wildcats vs. Forsan Buffaloes
Wink was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 16-7 to the Forsan Buffaloes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buffaloes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-5 last Thursday.
REMINGTON NEVES and GUNNER VOYLES stepped up to the plate in a big way. NEVES got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while VOYLES went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. JAIME RUIZ was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Wink's defeat dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Forsan, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wink will face off against rival Reagan County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Forsan is set to square off against their familiar foe McCamey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
