Anson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 10-2 to the Cherryville Ironmen.

Anson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Cherryville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Anson and Cherryville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Bearcats (ranked 570th) will meet Central Academy of Technology & Arts (ranked 256th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cherryville will square off against Highland Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (566 vs. 159).
