Football Recap: Tipton-Rosemark Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Tipton-Rosemark Academy was riding high fresh off their 49-13 takedown of Fayette Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rebels fell 35-28 to the Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars on Friday. The Rebels lost against the Cougars in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 45-14 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Tipton-Rosemark Academy lost, don't look at Nix Fullen. Despite the final result, he rushed for 140 yards and four TDs, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. Fullen's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 126 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Middle Tennessee Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alie Bangura, who rushed for 128 yards and one score while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Le'Marlo Nichols was another key player, rushing for 28 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-7 defeat against University School of Jackson on the 24th. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Providence Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The LIONS will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
