Football Game Preview: Ledyard Colonels vs. Montville Wolves

The Ledyard Colonels will venture away from home to challenge the Montville Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Ledyard's offense might be in the hot seat on Thursday considering what happened against Griswold on Friday. The game between the Colonels and the Wolverines didn't end well, with the Colonels falling 14-0. Having soared to a lofty 43 points in the game before, the Colonels' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Montville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 39-17 to Waterford. The Wolves were right on the edge of victory: they outscored the Lancers in the fourth quarter 8-0.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ledyard fell to 2-1. As for Montville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Everything came up roses for Ledyard against Montville when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 36-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Colonels since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
