Basketball Game Preview: Triangle Math & Science Tigers vs. Clover Garden School Grizzlies

The Triangle Math & Science Tigers will square off against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Triangle Math & Science is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Triangle Math & Science came up short against Woods Charter and fell 44-35.

Triangle Math & Science's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ahmed Omer, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds Omer has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rehaan Subzwari, who scored six points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Clover Garden School earned a 60-51 victory over Phoenix Academy on Friday.

Triangle Math & Science better keep an eye on Brayden DeAlto. He was instrumental in Clover Garden School's win, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. They are 4-2 when DeAlto posts eight or more boards, but 4-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Akers, who earned six points in addition to 17 rebounds and four blocks.

Triangle Math & Science's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Clover Garden School, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Triangle Math & Science has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 23.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Clover Garden School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
