Baseball Recap: Shadow Hills Extends Winning Streak to Three

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Shadow Hills ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top against the Indio Rajahs by a score of 5-2. The victory was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Cole Meka was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Shadow Hills is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-2 otherwise. Meka was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Meka wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jakobe Figueroa, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

The win got Shadow Hills back to even at 3-3. As for Indio, they dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Shadow Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Palm Springs on the 4th. As for Indio, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-2 loss against Tahquitz on the 7th.
