Volleyball Recap: Jaylynn Sherred Key Part of Team Effort in Wildcats Win

Struthers won the last time they faced Chaney and things went their way on Thursday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Struthers took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-11, 25-15.

Struthers got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaylynn Sherred out in front who had eight digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Sherred a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trynyty Nail, who had 11 digs.

They weren't the only good server: Struthers was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaney only served four aces.

Struthers' record is now 6-9. As for Chaney, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Struthers has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Memorial on the 22nd. Chaney has also already played their next matchup (against McKinley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
