Baseball Recap: Delta Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Roaring Fork, Delta was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Aspen Skiers. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Skiers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Gage Lehrman got the start for Delta and what a start it was: he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Dom Teal picked up the save, pitching 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Landon Kennell was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Delta's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Deacon Shean, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Delta's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Aspen, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Skiers beat Delta by a score of 10-0 later that day.
