Preview: Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech Tigers vs. Pathways Eagles

The Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Pathways Eagles at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,399 points over their last 18 matches.

Last Thursday, Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech didn't have too much trouble with Montverde Academy Regional at home as they won 65-50. Given Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Montverde Academy Regional is ranked 417th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nayvin Perez, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Perez hasn't dropped below two steals for 12 straight games. Adiel Lopez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Pathways fought the good fight in their overtime game against Lake Nona on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 61-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Saturday (55), Pathways still had to take the loss.

Despite their loss, Pathways saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Adrian Mutothori, who scored 13 points along with two steals, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Pathways smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-3. As for Pathways, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 75.7 points per game. It's a different story for Pathways, though, as they've been averaging only 61.8 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech came out on top in a nail-biter against Pathways when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 57-55. Does Bilingual Christian Academy & Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pathways turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
