Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Lutheran Academy Starts Season with Victory at Home

Holy Cross Lutheran Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Orlando Science Orcas to the tune of 58-23. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-7.

Christian King went supernova, shooting 48% from the field to rack up 35 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Those six steals gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Quincy Lee, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Orlando Science is on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Holy Cross Lutheran Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 54-38 loss against Lake Mary Prep on the 18th. As for Orlando Science, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-31 defeat against Four Corners on the 18th.
