Softball Recap: Northeastern Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Northeastern's offense. They came up short against the Mechanicsburg Wildcats on Monday, falling 15-0. The Bobcats' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Northeastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Himes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Northeastern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Mechanicsburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

Northeastern and Mechanicsburg could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Bobcats (ranked 482nd) will meet Red Land (ranked 140th) at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mechanicsburg will face off against Central Dauphin at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (162 vs. 3).
