The Morristown-Hamblen West Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Powell Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Morristown-Hamblen West has given up an average of 30.4 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Morristown-Hamblen West is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Sevier County on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Trojans took a blow against the Smoky Bears, falling 40-7. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Smoky Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Powell hadn't beaten West on the road since November 26, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Panthers came out on top against the Rebels by a score of 15-3. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Rebels are ranked 100th).

Morristown-Hamblen West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Powell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
