Baseball Recap: Pearland Beats Ridge Point for Their Third Straight Win

Pearland won against Sam Rayburn last Tuesday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Pearland Oilers didn't even let the Ridge Point Panthers on the board, marking the Pearland Oilers' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The victory was familiar territory for the Oilers, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Walker Hurst was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Nicholas Partida was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Hurst wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Pearland lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Pearland's record now sits at 7-3. As for Ridge Point, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Pearland and Ridge Point could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Pearland (ranked 89th) will meet Atascocita (ranked 14th) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Ridge Point will challenge Kingwood at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday down 201 places (210 vs. 9).
