Baseball Game Preview: Eastlake Titans vs. Rancho Bernardo Broncos

Eastlake and Rancho Bernardo are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Titans will welcome the Broncos at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Eastlake 2.5, Rancho Bernardo 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Eastlake is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They came out on top against Glendora by a score of 4-1.

Nick Romero tossed a big game, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hamza Hatahet was excellent, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Rancho Bernardo posted their closest win since May 5th on Wednesday. They skirted past Fountain Valley 4-2.

Eastlake pushed their record up to 21-10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Rancho Bernardo, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 19-13 record this season.
