Shasta is 1-9 against Foothill since September of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Shasta will be strutting in after a win while Foothill will be coming in after a loss.
Shasta barely beat Red Bluff the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wolves blew past the Spartans 3-0 on Tuesday.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Shasta took every set by at least 11 points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-10, 25-14.

Shasta can attribute much of their success to Olivia Sutter, who had seven digs and one assist, and Sophie Smith, who had 32 assists and four aces. Smith is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in each of the last six games she's played.
They weren't the only good servers: Shasta was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 18 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Foothill suffered their biggest defeat since September 4th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Pleasant Valley.
While Foothill was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-17, 25-15.
Shasta will have to keep a close watch on M J O'Rorke and Gabbriella Vega Sanchez, a pair of players who had a big impact on Foothill's prior game. O'Rorke had 14 digs and one assist, while Vega Sanchez had eight digs and one assist.
Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Shasta, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Shasta has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7 aces per game. However, it's not like Foothill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Shasta came up short against Foothill in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
