Softball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

Murrieta Mesa had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Poly Bears get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

Lilly Hauser made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in June of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Taelyn Holley, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Gracy Zamora, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Murrieta Mesa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 14 consecutive matchups.

Murrieta Mesa has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Poly, they moved to 20-9 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Murrieta Mesa nor the Bears have any future games scheduled.
