            Basketball Recap: Corning Cardinals vs. Red Bluff Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Corning walked away with it. They secured  a  61-57 W over the Red Bluff Spartans on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Cardinals sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

 Corning can attribute much of their success to  Alan De Lara, who  dropped  a double-double with 18  points and ten  rebounds. The dominant performance gave  De Lara a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was  Jeff Mendros, who  went 6-for-11  on his way to 14  points and eight  assists.
Corning's record now sits at 15-12. As for Red Bluff, they dropped their record down to 16-12 with the  loss, which was their third straight  at home.
 Coming up,  a feisty cat fight will be fought as  the Cardinals  take on  the Cougars at 7:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Foothill knows how to get  points on the board -- the  team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Corning likes a good challenge. Red Bluff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
