Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Addison Gaylord and Miranda Wilke Lead Wheatland to Victory

Wheatland waltzed into their contest on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Center Cougars 3-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Wheatland not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Center between 13 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-15.

Leading Wheatland to victory were Miranda Wilke and Addison Gaylord. Wilke had 29 assists and five digs, while Gaylord had nine digs and two aces. That's the most digs Gaylord has posted over her last seven matches.

They weren't the only good servers: Wheatland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive matchups.

Wheatland's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Center, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 6-11.

Wheatland has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against River Islands on the 28th. Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
