Baseball Recap: Jal Takes a Loss

Jal came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 23-8 to the Santa Rosa Lions.

Javier Santillan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Santillan is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Sebastian Arroyo was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Jal's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Santa Rosa, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Jal will venture away from home to take on Loving at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Santa Rosa, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Santa Rosa Lions face off against Lovington Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
