Athenian has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Mt. Shasta Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Athenian and Head-Royce squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly Athenian had to settle for second. Their rough 66-46 loss to the Jayhawks might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Athenian has scored all season.
Evan Lucas put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 18 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Surya Devasenapathy, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Mt. Shasta was able to grind out a solid win over McKinleyville on Tuesday, taking the game 60-49. The victory was just what Mt. Shasta needed coming off of a 61-38 loss in their prior contest.
Athenian's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-8. As for Mt. Shasta, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.
