Baseball Game Preview: Ramsey Rams vs. NV - Old Tappan Golden Knights

The Ramsey Rams will head out to square off against the NV - Old Tappan Golden Knights at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Ramsey will be strutting in after a win while NV - Old Tappan will be coming in after a loss.

Ramsey is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Pascack Hills on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Ramsey let Roberto Cotes and Jared Steckleman run wild. Cotes went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Steckleman scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That triple marked the first that Cotes hit this season. Sean Sailer was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, NV - Old Tappan didn't have quite enough to beat Passaic Valley on Wednesday and fell 4-3. The loss was the Golden Knights' first of the season.

Ramsey's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for NV - Old Tappan, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Ramsey was able to grind out a solid victory over NV - Old Tappan in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Golden Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
