Linden proved they can win big last Monday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Ripon Christian Knights 3-2. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jake Daluz was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. That hit was his first of the season.

Linden's record now sits at 4-2. As for Ripon Christian, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-3.

Linden and Ripon Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Linden (ranked 97th) will meet Liberty Ranch (ranked 261st) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Linden's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Ripon Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Meanwhile, Ripon Christian will square off against Chavez at 3:30 p.m. on Friday up 272 places (186 vs. 458).
