Basketball Recap: Tommy Williams Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Buena

Pacifica hadn't done well against Buena recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Pacifica Tritons walked away with a 71-64 win over the Buena Bulldogs. This was payback for the Tritons, who suffered a 64-36 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Pacifica's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tommy Williams, who posted 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Those eight boards gave Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Jones JR., who put up 16 points and six rebounds.

Pacifica was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive matches.

Pacifica's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 8-11. As for Buena, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Pacifica wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-54 loss against Rio Mesa on the 15th. Buena has also already played their next match (against Ventura), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
