Basketball Recap: Poudre Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brady Santillanes and Leaf Steinhauser

Poudre was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Ridge Ravens.

Poudre's loss came despite strong showings from Leaf Steinhauser and Brady Santillanes. Steinhauser dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds, while Santillanes dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 boards.

Luke Wildhagen was the offensive standout of the contest as he posted 11 points and five rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 57% in the last four games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Barzelatto, who had nine points.

Poudre's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Riverdale Ridge, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Poudre will be playing at home against Roosevelt at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Riverdale Ridge, they will take on Severance at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
