Softball Recap: Merrillville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Calumet New Tech on Monday, Merrillville came back down to earth. The Pirates lost 15-0 to the Chesterton Trojans on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-1 back in April.

Merrillville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Chesterton, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-11.

Looking ahead, Merrillville will face off against Lake Station Edison at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Chesterton, they will challenge Valparaiso at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
