Recap: Houston Adventist Academy vs. Lifestyle Christian Victors
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against The Covenant Preparatory School, Houston Adventist Academy were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 73-39 win over Lifestyle Christian. That's another feather in the cap for Houston Adventist Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Houston Adventist Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ottis Crudup III, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 21 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Crudup III has scored at least a third of Houston Adventist Academy's points. Nate Morrison was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
Several Victors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kenneth Dobson, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dobson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aric Musterman, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The win got Houston Adventist Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Lifestyle Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.
Houston Adventist Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Calvary Baptist at 7:30 p.m. Averaging 58 points so far this season, Houston Adventist Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Calvary Baptist better be ready for a challenge. As for Lifestyle Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against The Covenant Preparatory School at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Covenant Preparatory School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten games -- so hopefully Lifestyle Christian likes a good challenge.
