Softball Recap: Apple Valley Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

After only two runs in their last contest, Apple Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Serrano on Tuesday. The Sun Devils blew past the Diamondbacks 12-2. The Sun Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Brynne Johnson made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Brooke Johnson was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Apple Valley lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Apple Valley pushed their record up to 11-6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Serrano, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apple Valley will challenge Rancho Cucamonga at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.84 runs per game on average), something the Sun Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Serrano, they will square off against Sultana at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Sultans will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Diamondbacks surely won't give up without a fight.
