Volleyball Recap: Izabelle Beekman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Eastern over Piketon

If Eastern was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Oak Hill on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell 3-1 to the Piketon Redstreaks on Monday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Redstreaks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Izabelle Beekman, who had 11 assists and nine digs. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Brown, who had 14 digs.

Saydi Childers was nothing short of spectacular for Piketon: she had 14 digs and five aces. That's the most digs Childers has posted over her last six contests.

With the loss, Eastern broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4. As for Piketon, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Eastern wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against South Gallia on the 23rd. As for Piketon, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Southeastern on the 23rd.
