Softball Recap: Fairless Triumphs

While Fairless's win against Orrville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons skirted past the Red Riders 12-11. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Red Riders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Fairless got a massive performance out of Bailee Espenschied, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Espenschied a new career-high. Cheyenne Cooper also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fairless kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Fairless' win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Orrville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairless will welcome Tuslaw at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Orrville, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Smithville at 5:00 p.m.
