Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Molloy Stanners vs. St. John's Prep Red Storm

The Archbishop Molloy Stanners will take on the St. John's Prep Red Storm at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Archbishop Molloy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Archbishop Molloy fought the good fight in their overtime game against Holy Cross on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights.

Meanwhile, St. John's Prep scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, falling 79-55. While losing is never fun, the Red Storm can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Vikings are ranked tenth).

Archbishop Molloy's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. John's Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything came up roses for Archbishop Molloy against St. John's Prep when the teams last played back in January of 2023, as the squad secured a 67-39 win.
