Soccer Recap: Huntington Beach Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Huntington Beach was not quite Edison's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Edison Chargers by a score of 3-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Oilers in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost three in a row.

Huntington Beach's loss dropped their record down to 8-6-3. As for Edison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington Beach will challenge Fountain Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edison, they will take on Newport Harbor at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing isn't great for Newport Harbor: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Edison has snatched up five consecutive wins on the road.
