Wildwood waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They really took it to the Citrus Hurricanes for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-45 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wildwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashton Wilson, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 13 points and three steals. Traeston Armstrong was another key player, going 8 of 13 on his way to 16 points.
Wildwood was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Citrus only racked up ten assists.
Despite the loss, Citrus still got an impressive performance from Ashton Jenkins, who went 8 of 14 on his way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hensley, who posted six points in addition to six assists and four blocks.
Wildwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Citrus, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
Wildwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-50 win against Palatka on the 6th. Citrus has also already played their next game, a 70-51 loss against Central on the 8th.
