The Burroughs Bears will venture away from home to take on the Hart Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burroughs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.
Burroughs is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Dos Pueblos on Saturday. They fell 6-2 to the Chargers.
Burroughs got a good showing from Elliott Rendon, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest earned runs Rendon has allowed since back in March.
At the plate, Sophie Rangsiyawong was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Hart hadn't done well against Valencia recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 14-3 victory. 14 seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Gabriella Kobliska made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Nylah Melendez was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Naima Melendez, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Hart kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Hart is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Burroughs, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Burroughs hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Hart struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Burroughs got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Hart by a conclusive 11-2 score. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
