Basketball Recap: Grenada Comes Up Short

Grenada lost against Olive Branch back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Grenada Chargers came up short against the Olive Branch Conquistadors, falling 83-57. The Chargers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Grenada saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Garan Edwards posted six points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zayion Cotton, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Grenada's record now sits at 2-15. As for Olive Branch, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grenada and Rosa Fort will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Olive Branch, they will take on South Panola at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Olive Branch knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully South Panola likes a good challenge.
