Volleyball Recap: James Monroe Comes Up Short

James Monroe's tournament run continued when they took on Williamstown on Saturday. The Mavericks fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 2-1.

Ava Pitzer paced James Monroe's offense, picking up 14 kills. Pitzer got some help from Skylar Clarkson and her 17 assists. Mya Dunlap controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

James Monroe's loss dropped their record down to 24-8-2. As for Williamstown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9-2 record this season.

James Monroe will be playing at home against PikeView at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williamstown, they will head out on the road to face off against Tyler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
