Football Game Preview: Manual Arts Toilers vs. Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles

The Manual Arts Toilers will face off against the Verbum Dei Jesuit Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Manual Arts' last matchup with Lincoln could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest last Friday. The Toilers came up short against the Tigers, falling 48-28. Despite 230 more yards than the Tigers, the Toilers couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 42 points the game before, Verbum Dei Jesuit was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a 20-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Locke.

Verbum Dei Jesuit's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Manual Arts, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Manual Arts took a serious blow against Verbum Dei Jesuit in their previous meeting back in August of 2018, falling 48-18. Can the Toilers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
